Rosalyn Thompson was born in the Shetland Isles, Scotland.  She has always been very creative and over the years has painted theatre back drops, portraits and landscapes.  She started working in silver, gold and glass enamelling in 1985.  The Shetland Isles are steeped in history – with Viking and Pictish settlements, giving great inspiration to Rosalyn for her jewellery designs.

Having successfully built up her business in Shetland and travelling to various trade fairs to promote her jewellery, Rosalyn now finds herself dividing her time between Shetland and Wimborne in Dorset.  In contrast to Shetland, Dorset's scenery, architecture and history not to mention temperature means she’s finding endless inspiration for new designs.

Over the years Rosalyn has perfected various techniques from photo-etching the silver and hand enamelling or hand cutting the designs with a piercing saw to her preferred method today using the latest CAD CAM computer giving her endless options of manipulating her designs.

The past couple of years she has seen much more requests for presentation pieces and one off designs which she finds very exciting.
